  • Heart-Shaped Willow Wreath

    Crafting a willow wreath is a beautiful and rewarding project, perfect for yourself or for gifting to a loved one. I have some available to buy via Instagram if you don’t fancy the project and just wanted to learn.

    With just a few materials and a bit of patience and creativity, you can create a unique decoration that is a super sweet addition to your space. Follow this simple guide to shape and decorate your own rustic willow wreath.

    You will need: 

    4x Equal sized willow strands 

    Dried flowers and foliage ( The quantity is your preference ) 

    Floristry Wire

    Ribbon 

    Tape ( optional ) 

    Start by binding two stands of willow together by wrapping them around each other – I recommend tapping these, to keep them together while you work on the other pieces of willow. 

    Repeat this process again ( be mindful that willow snaps if you are too heavy-handed ) 

    Once you have created the two separate and in-twinned willow pieces, you then need to bind them together. Using the thicker end, attach them with tape. This can be removed/ cut at the end. If you feel confident you can do this right away with wire instead.

    Start working the willow into a heart shape. Once you are happy with the shape bind it with wire. I recommend starting with the thin end and then attaching the thinner end to the thick. 

    Pro tip: Keep the wire attached so once you’ve completed the above steps you can start to attach your flowers and foliage. 

    When the flowers and foliage are secured with the wire, you can cut the excess stems to your desired length ( I have left 3 inches )

    Finally, to hide your wire, attach your ribbon… You have completed your own beautiful willow wreath.

  • 🌸 My Mother’s Day Flower Guide – Find the Perfect Blooms for your special someone! 🌸

    On the 30th of March, not only do we celebrate all the incredible women in our lives, we also embrace the beginning of British summer time! In light of this exciting day, I have created a guide of flowers that you should consider for your bouquet or arrangement. Every flower carries a unique meaning, so it is worth having a read!

    🌿 Carnations ( Dianthus Caryophyllus )– The Classic Mother’s Day Flower

    Carnations are the official Mother’s Day bloom, symbolising love, faith, and beauty. They are long-lasting and deeply meaningful.

    • Pink Carnations – A mother’s unconditional love, appreciation, and gratitude.
    • Red Carnations – They represent sincere love, admiration, and respect.

    🌷 Tulips ( Tulips ) – The Elegant, in-season choice.

    Tulips are in season during Mother’s Day, making them a fresh and bright option. Each colour carries a special message:

    • Pink – Affection, well wishes, and appreciation.
    • Red – Love and passion (perfect for wives!).
    • Purple – Elegance and admiration (great for mother-in-law!).
    • Yellow & Orange – Joy, happiness, and warmth.

    🌿 Hydrangeas – A Symbol of Gratitude

    Hydrangeas represent grace, appreciation, and heartfelt emotions, making them perfect for a caring and supportive mother.

    • Blue – Deep gratitude and understanding.
    • Pink – Love, sincerity, and heartfelt emotion.
    • White – Purity and grace.
    • Purple – Abundance and appreciation.

    🌺 Lilies ( Lilium ) – Timeless Beauty

    Lilies which are loved for their large, elegant blooms, are also associated with happiness and good fortune. Like Marmite, Lilies are either loved or hated by the receiver, so make sure that you know who you’re buying for! Two of my favourite colours:

    • White Lilies – Purity and majesty.
    • Pink Lilies – Love, admiration, and prosperity.

    Lilies are toxic to cats, so, keep that in mind too..

    🌹 Roses ( Rosa ) – A Classic with a Meaningful Twist

    Instead of red (which symbolises romance, in which we have seen a lot of due to valentines), I recommend that you choose softer shades that represent appreciation and warmth, these colours also brighten up any space in line with the welcoming of this summer:

    • Deep Pink – Gratitude and admiration.
    • Light Pink – Joy, happiness, and appreciation.
    • Peach – Sincere thanks and warmth.

    Flowers have a unique way of expressing what words often cannot. There are countless reasons why we buy, grow, and gift them, each carrying a hidden message. Every week, I’ll share the inspiration behind my floral arrangements and reveal their deeper, spiritual meanings.

    This week, a conversation with a friend about the arrival of spring inspired me to create a romantic, wildflower bouquet. As the days grow longer and the sun begins to warm the world again, many still struggle with seasonal depression. With the season of romance just around the corner, this can be a particularly challenging time for some.

    The Flowers & Their Meanings

    Limonium (Sea Lavender/Statice)
    Known for its long vase life, Limonium symbolizes everlasting love, remembrance, and sympathy. It’s the perfect flower to convey the sentiment, “I miss you,” in a way that endures—just as we hold onto cherished memories and the promise of brighter days ahead.

    Allium
    Blooming in spring, Allium represents unity, prosperity, grace, and luck. It is a delicate yet striking flower that effortlessly brings a sense of calm and joy—an ideal reminder of the strength found in connection and new beginnings.

    Ranunculus
    Often called “little frogs” or buttercups, Ranunculus carries a fascinating history. In Victorian times, it symbolized charm and attraction. However, its legend traces back even further—to a Persian prince who fell deeply in love with a beautiful nymph. He sang to her tirelessly, but when she rejected him, his heartbreak was so profound that he perished, and from the soil where he died, the Ranunculus bloomed.

    Specifically, pink Ranunculus embodies love, gentleness, and femininity—making it the perfect flower to celebrate women and friendship, aligning beautifully with the inspiration behind this week’s selection.

    Germini
    A close relative of the Gerbera daisy, Germini serves as a reminder to find joy in life’s simple pleasures. Symbolizing loyalty, purity, and cheerfulness, it brings a sense of warmth and appreciation—an uplifting way to brighten anyone’s day.
